IMPORTANT REMINDER

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As communicated to parents in June 2025, Hellenic Greek International School (HGIS) has been preparing to administer the Cambridge IGCSE examinations in Year 11 (Grade 10), beginning with the June 2027 examination series, in accordance with the Cambridge programme structure.

Under the revised academic pathway, students will complete their IGCSE examinations in Year 11 (Grade 10), proceed to Year 12 (Grade 11) for AS Level studies, and then continue to Year 13 (Grade 12) for A Level completion.

This adjustment brings the school’s academic pathway into closer alignment with the Cambridge international education structure and provides a clear progression from IGCSE to advanced-level studies. Compared with the previous practice of completing IGCSE examinations in Year 12, the revised arrangement enables students to complete their IGCSE examinations one academic year earlier.

As a result, students may complete the full school pathway in one fewer academic year, which may provide families with benefits in terms of both time and overall educational costs.

As our students prepare for these important international examinations, we kindly request the full support and cooperation of all parents and guardians. In particular, we encourage parents to help students establish regular and effective study routines and to minimize prolonged and unnecessary use of digital devices, particularly during study and revision periods. A supportive home environment is essential for helping students maintain concentration, develop effective study habits, and achieve their academic potential.

At the same time, the school is preparing a structured IGCSE Examination Support Programme to provide additional academic assistance and focused examination preparation for Year 11 (Grade 10) students. Further information, including the programme schedule and arrangements, will be communicated to parents once the programme has been finalized.
